And even more music…..

October began with a fascinating visit to The College of Arms on 6th – actually we were locked in The College of Arms for this private tour. Heraldry, the output of the College is really the first and most recognisable form of branding; dating back to early medieval times when the Heralds arranged tournaments and kept tally on the scores of the contestants. They recognised the knights by the crests on their helmets and the arms of their shields.

August and summer holidays in the Artic

I have always wanted to see polar bears. And for my summer holidays this year I managed to do just that. I took a trip to the most northerly inhabited islands in the world – the Svalbard Islands probably better known by the name of its biggest island, Spitsbergen. As it is part of the Norwegian Artic Territory, we travelled from Oslo to its capital Longyerberian (p. 2000) then took a boat cruise reaching as far north as 81.40 N. We were lucky enough to have the polar bear sighting of the season – it was a true Fox’s Glacier Mint moment as this absolutely huge polar bear appeared about 70 metres from us.

Museum of Brands Appeal

This is an URGENT APPEAL to raise funds for our 2015 special cause, the Museum of Brands. It is one of London's top TripAdvisor attractions but it is out of space and therefore is not promoting marketing or brands anywhere near as well as it could to the 50,000 visitors a year.

Marketors walk the skies over London

Our visit to the Sky Garden on September 3rd was certainly a Fellowship Walk with a difference – it was on a weekday evening, relatively unstructured and accompanied by live music. From north, south, east and west almost 45 members and their guests gathered in one of London’s newest public spaces on the 35th floor atop the Walkie Talkie building (aka 20 Fenchurch Street).

Marketing Scholarship Award from Mais Bursary opening for applications

In our busy lives as marketors we may personally find it challenging to make time to undertake professional development through a research project or satisfy a restless curiosity in the focussed study of some aspect of marketing that is of direct personal interest. It is not only time resource that prohibits making the first step but the need to allocate funds to cover costs.
