On 26th April we are holding our annual Rededication Service followed by the Spring Luncheon at Apothecaries’ Hall.
The Rededication Service will be at “our” church of St Bride’s just off
Fleet Street and our Honorary Chaplain, the Reverend Canon Dr Alison Joyce, will officiate. St Bride’s Church prides itself in being open and inclusive and this service is “open to all faiths and none”.
I do hope you will all feel able to attend. The music at the service will
be spectacular, with the singing led by the St Bride’s world renowned
The venue for our Luncheon is Apothecaries’ Hall, a short walk from the Church. The Worshipful Society of Apothecaries received its Charter in 1617 and still acts as a medical examining and licensing body. The current Hall dates from 1670, an earlier Hall having been destroyed in the Great Fire of
London, and is the oldest extant Hall in the City, with a superb original staircase and oak panelling.
Our distinguished speaker will be Tom Ilube. Tom is a serial tech entrepreneur and also a noted philanthropist, having founded the African Gifted Foundation.
He was the first winner of the City Livery Club’s prestigious Root and Branch Award for his work in setting-up Hammersmith Academy and was
recently voted the most powerful black man in Britain.
I look forward to seeing many of you on 26th April.
