All Day

In July 2018 The Queen’s Own Gurkha Logistic Regiment (QOGLR) will celebrate its Diamond Birthday: 60 years of loyal service to the British Crown since the Regiments formation in the Far East in 1958. From operational duty in Borneo, Malaya, the Gulf War, Bosnia, Iraq, Afghanistan and Sierra Leone to Peacekeeping duties around the World for 60 years our Regiment has been at the fore of the British Army’s contribution to defending the United Kingdom’s interests.

In 1994, the QOGLR Trust was created to support the serving and former service personnel of the Regiment and their families. Education, welfare and Adventure Training support are but a few areas where the QOGLR Trust has been able to make an essential moral and financial difference.

The Trust is also a significant donor to its chosen charities: the Gurkha Welfare Trust (GWT) and the Army Benevolent Fund (ABF).

To mark our Diamond Birthday, the QOGLR Trust will be raising funds to help sustain this vital work with a particular focus on supporting the many 100’s of our Regiment’s ageing Gurkha Service Pensioner’s back home in their home country of Nepal.

On behalf on Major General A S J Fay (Colonel of the Regiment QOGLR), I extend to you a very special invite to the Regiment’s lead Diamond Birthday event – The QOGLR Trust Charity Dinner Night – on 15th July 2017 in the Regimental Officers’ Mess in Aldershot, Hampshire. We would like you, your family or perhaps your work colleagues to come and spend ‘An Evening with the Gurkhas’.

The Regimental Officer’s and special guests, including Sergeant Johnson Beharry winner of the Victoria Cross, will host you for a unique night.

Whether it be learning more of the history of the Gurkha soldier, viewing a private show from the Band of the Brigade of Gurkhas, enjoying a Gurkha Curry prepared by our award winning Gurkha Chefs or the opportunity to win some superb auction prizes we can guarantee you an occasion you will never forget.

Vitally, you will be part of a very special group of guests raising money for some very special people.

I sincerely hope that you can join us for what we know will be a truly ‘one-off’ event. And your attendance will be marked and enjoyed beyond just the evening itself. We are indebted to the support of the Knights Group, a locally based but internationally renowned company, who have become our first QOGLR Trust Patrons.

All of those who attend this evening will also become Patrons of the QOGLR Trust and their contributions individually and formally recognised in the publication of a book released in 2018 celebrating our Regimental history.

This occasion is limited to only 170 guests and tickets can purchased individually. Tickets are priced at £100 each and include reception drinks, a 3-Course Meal (including Gurkha Curry), table wine and all entertainment.

If anybody is interested please contact Chairman AFCC,, who will be attending, for more information.
