David Pearson “The Marketors”, has long promoted excellence in marketing and recently recognised a number of students for outstanding performance at Masters’ level. The Marketors and its Education Committee gave out five awards during their Ceremonial Court last week at the Mansion House, before their annual banquet attended by the Lord Mayor.

Through its charity, the Marketors’ Trust, the organisation supports annually a small number of substantial awards and bursaries for post-graduate study that seeks to further and encourage best practice in marketing excellence.  As part of this, the Trust bestows an award on a postgraduate student that is part of the MSc Marketing Strategy & Innovation programme at the Cass Business School.

This year’s award winner is Francisca Posada-Brown, the recipient of a £10,000 bursary from the Marketors for 2015-2016, who is undertaking a business research project on the role of brand in professional services firms.

Other award winners from the evening included:

  • Iulia Ciora from Regent’s University, London for her dissertation on digital strategies to increase online sales of luxury retailers, undertaken for her MSc in Digital Marketing and Analytics.
  • Toby Norman from Judge Business School, Cambridge University for his dissertation on empathy and marketing performance, undertaken for his PhD in Management.
  • Daniele Pramaggiore from the Queen Mary, University of London School of Business and Management for her dissertation on the impact of counterfeiting on genuine luxury brands: The Burberry case study, undertaken for an MSc in Marketing.
  • Tong Wu from the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford for her dissertation on Customer engagement with microblogs – the role of the social CEO, undertaken for her DPhil in Management.

“As an organisation we are strongly focused on enabling the marketing industry and recognising excellence and innovation in the next generation of marketers. These awards reinforce our commitment to supporting future Marketors and giving them the confidence to go forward in their future careers where they can shape and contribute to this environment,” says David Pearson, Master, The Marketors.
