If you’re new to this blog….

This blog records the participation of the Master in numerous activities across the City and elsewhere complementing the many events held within our own Company.

Whilst it is mainly written to inform members of the Worshipful Company of Marketors it will also be found of interest to anyone wishing to know more about the typical week to week engagements of a Master of a City of London livery company during a very full and memorable year of office.

The Livery operates as a traditional part of the City of London “tapestry” supporting the Mayoralty and many charitable causes. As well as receiving many invitations the Master also has to manage the Company and its programme on a day to day basis in close liaison with the Clerk and other members of the Company.

Last Night’s 151 Curry Evening

Last night, 46 Marketors and their guests, with a similar number from 151 Regiment The Royal Logistics Corps, met in the Officers’ Mess of Regent’s Park Barracks for the annual ‘Curry Night.’ Hosted by the new Commanding Officer, Lt Col David Miller RLC and organised by Captain Wayne Theobald RLC and the new Adjutant, Captain John Wooldridge RLC. After a reception we moved to the anti-room where we were entertained by a harpist who played beautifully for most of the evening. School children learn about life at sea at HMS St Albans

The HMS St Albans returned to Portsmouth on Tuesday 28th March and docked there before and during the Easter holiday period. During this time, it was decided to open up the ship for school children to visit and learn about what a day would be like for crew members on the HMS St Albans. Learning about life on the HMS St Albans 32 children were selected from schools throughout Portsmouth to take part in the visit, all of whom have parents that serve in the Armed Forces. Event: Meantime Brewing Company Visit

On Saturday 6th May, the Worshipful Company of Marketors have been invited to enjoy a tutored beer tasting and tour of the UK's largest craft beer brewery. Attendees can enjoy a two course lunch and detailed tour, and there will be an opportunity to buy any of the samples tasted during the day.
