One of our Liverymen, the Rt Hon Dame Cheryl Gillan MP, PC, is the longest serving Conservative woman MP and recently she has found herself at the heart of current British politics in her role as Acting Co-Chair of the Party’s 1922 Committee which has run the ballots for the Tory leadership contest. She has featured prominently announcing results of some of the ballots at the different stages of the leadership contest.
Dame Cheryl has been a Marketor for more than 25 years having worked in marketing before entering politics as MP for Chesham and Amersham in the 1990’s. She is a Privy Councillor and was the first woman to serve as Secretary of State for Wales. She has hosted events for the Marketors in parliament and is a staunch supporter of the company.
