Making the Transition to 2020

Technology has forever changed the way we do business and interact - that much is clear. However when we look at our own skill sets and personal development it becomes less clear how we can thrive in this ever changing environment.

Throughout this year we have explored in great detail the technology, pressures and issues the 2020 CMO must navigate. In this last lecture of my year I want to turn the focus on how we personally can navigate through some of these factors and come out on top.

While there are new skills we will need to consider, we must not neglect the core skills that have always been central to our profession and that are more relevant than ever in these changing times. But how can we balance the new and the core and make the successful transition to the new world of 2020?

In this session, Roger will begin by looking at some of the key competencies a CMO or senior marketer will need in the coming years. We will then explore how to upskill in these areas, and close any gaps, in order to stay relevant. Roger will also be considering what we need to do to remain employable in the coming years, as well as the most important things we must work on now to keep ahead of the curve.

Finally. Roger will be sharing with us some of the key traps that he has seen people fall into over the years and how we can avoid them. Please come with your own questions as we will leave plenty of time for an interactive Q&A session towards the end of the lecture.
