A visit to St Paul’s Cathedral
A private tour of St Paul's Cathedral followed by Choral Evensong
Come and experience Choral Evensong at St Paul’s Cathedral sung by the Cathedral Choir.
This will be preceded by a private guided tour of the cathedral including the lesser-known upper areas, such as Wren’s magnificent library, the Whispering Gallery and the Triforium.
Choral Evensong is the one cathedral service which is led almost entirely by music. On March 9 there will be a full choir who will be singing the following:
Introit: Scapulis suis by Malcolm Canticles: Fauxbourdons by Causton Anthem: Miserere mei Deus by G. Gabrieli
Choral Evensong takes place towards the high altar, in the stalls in the Quire, where we will have reserved seating.
Please arrive at the ticket barrier no later than 2.45pm, as the tour will start promptly at 3.00pm. Evensong starts at 5pm and is likely to finish sometime around 5.45pm. Please note that although the cathedral has some lifts, it will also be necessary to use some stairs, so sensible shoes are advisable.
The cost of supper is not included in the ticket price for this event. If there is sufficient interest, I will book a table at Coppa, which is opposite St Paul’s steps, for an informal and early supper, on the basis that participants settle their bills individually on the night.
Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. When returning the slip below with your booking, please also indicate if you would like to come to supper. Please email me before you send your cheque to ensure your place is secured. You are also welcome to come to just the supper, if you are unable to make the tour.
