Steve Pailthorpe, aged 29, has been announced as one of the youngest Freeman to join the Worshipful Company of Marketors. Steve was one of six brand new Freeman received by the Marketors at a meeting of the Ceremonial Court at Mansion House.
The appointment reflects the ever-growing shift in the wider marketing community towards the use of digital channels. The new Marketor is currently the CEO of Iconic Digital, one of the City’s leading digital marketing agencies, and has previously worked alongside several government think-tanks on the future of digital marketing.
Steve said: “It is a real honour and a privilege to be welcomed as a Freeman of the Livery, particularly as I will be the currently youngest member. The Marketors play an extremely active role in promoting the wider marketing profession across the City of London and beyond. As we seek to develop thought leadership within the digital space, being part of the Marketors will enable us to forge even greater links, both within the Square Mile and the rest of the marketing community here in London.”
This is a landmark year for The Marketors, as it marks its 40th anniversary as the 90th in the City of London Roll of Livery Companies. The Trust continues to grow from strength to strength, with a current membership of 250 Liverymen and 134 Freemen in the Company, making a current total of 384 members.
Andrew Marsden, Master, The Marketors said: “It is no coincidence that our theme for this year is building valuable brands, and digital marketing has become a fundamental part of every successful company’s brand strategy. We are delighted to welcome Steve Pailthorpe as a Freeman, he is an exceptional young talent who brings a wealth of digital expertise and will add great value to The Marketors.”
