We are pleased to announce that Liveryman Annmarie Hanlon has been awarded the 2014 Mais Scholarship for her application “Researching frameworks for social media”
Mike Jones, Chairman of the Awards Committee, commented “ This year’s winner will be a great ambassador for the Mais Scholarship. Annmarie has been a member of the Company since 2010, a Liveryman since 2012 and is totally committed to undertaking the research which will be partly funded by this award. She impressed the Award’s committee with her detailed application which brought out fully her interest in social media as a subject and her desire to research the subject matter further.”
“Winning the Mais Scholarship is a wonderful achievement and demonstrates that my research is being recognised in this emerging and unruly area of marketing; social media. I was thrilled to learn my application was successful and am especially delighted to promote the good name of the Marketors, as the Mais Scholar. It is wonderful to gain recognition from my peers and I feel honoured that I have won two awards from the Marketors – the first being in 1991 for my CIM Diploma, when Norman Waite (one of the original members of the Company) was the CIM’s Director of Education, and recognised my CIM Diploma results. I joined Marketors as I felt that I needed to ‘stretch my brain’, I didn’t realise that within a few years I would start a PhD. The support from individual Marketors, as well as the Company as a whole, has been overwhelming. I look forward to updating the Awards committee as my research develops.”
