In September, Past Master David Pearson was conferred an Honorary Doctor of Letters (Hon DLitt) by Professor Quintin McKellar CBE, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Hertfordshire “in recognition of his significant career in, and contribution to, the marketing industry”.
The conferring ceremony was held in St Albans Cathedral in front of an audience of 1,250 people.
Past recipients of an Hon DLitt from the University of Hertfordshire include Nigel Hawthorne CBE; The Right Reverend Lord Runcie; PD James; Humphrey Lyttelton; Olivia de Havilland; Michael Morpurgo, MBE; John Motson OBE; Sebastian Faulks CBE and Helen Lederer.
The University of Hertfordshire has made tremendous progress since achieving university status in 1992. It aspires to be the leading business-facing university in the UK. In 2018 it has been shortlisted in four categories in the prestigious Times Higher Education (THE) Awards, including for the top Higher Education award ‘Outstanding Entrepreneurial University’.
