The Marketors' Outreach activities help Charities, Armed Services, other City Livery Companies and Educational Establishments. Around 2,000 hours of Outreach support is provided each year at no cost to the recipients.
Bakhita House
Bakhita House was established by the Diocese of Westminster and is managed by its social outreach charity, Caritas Westminster. Since 2015 it has supported over 120 women from 40 countries as they recover and re-adapt to a life free from exploitation. Part of a worldwide network of organisations providing a bulwark against modern slavery, it is a safe house offering immediate respite care for rescued victims as well as active support during the process of prosecuting perpetrators. Crucially, it provides restorative activities such as music and art therapy, English lessons and other life skills.
Working closely with Bakhita House service manager and former Met detective, Karen Anstiss, and with Caritas Trust fundraiser, Julie Christie-Webb, Freeman Lesley Lloyd designed a marketing strategy with proposals for fundraising activities. These included approaches to charitable trusts, corporates and high value individuals. The plan incorporated a digital marketing strategy and website review.
“We are grateful to the Worshipful Company of Marketors for their expertise and generosity in 2021. Their pro bono service has been invaluable to the development of a high level marketing and fundraising strategy which will help ensure the enduring success of Caritas Bakhita House in enabling women to live successful lives beyond trafficking.”

Charities
Outreach projects are also delivered with Individual charities, working to fulfil their strategies through confidential Marketing Advice from Outreach Directors drawn from amongst the Company's members. Charities have included:
A hospice and sanctuary for children with life limiting medical conditions. The Marketors' Outreach Team worked with the charity's leadership to find better ways to present themselves to stakeholders and funding sources.
The main source of advice for individuals with questions around benefits, housing and debt management. The Marketors Outreach Team worked at the branch level to improve volunteer attraction and improve outcome reporting to funding sources.
A Portsmouth based charity, delivering entrepreneurial insights and learning to school children in Portsmouth and London. The Company has provided speakers and mentors for the in-person ‘Changemaker’ programme.
Armed Forces
Armed Forces. City Livery Companies have long had strong connections with the armed forces, who have protected London over the centuries. The Marketors is no exception to this, and we have connections with units of each of the branches of the armed services, often supporting them in marketing activities around recruitment and communication.
